Martin’s Properties, a leading property investment and development company based in Central London, operating throughout the South of England, has today announced the appointment of Oliver Myerson as incoming Managing Director at Obsidian Strategic. At the same time Martin’s Properties has increased its share holdings of the strategic land business from 50% to 95%.
Established in 2017 as joint venture between Martin’s Properties Chairman Tom Martin and David Ardley, Managing Director of Black Onyx Group, Obsidian Strategic has firmly established itself as a strategic development company operating in the South East of England promoting a mixture of brown and greenfield land through the planning process. Working collaboratively with landowners, planning authorities and key local stakeholders, Obsidian focuses on the delivery of residential lead developments.
Today, Obsidian Strategic is a strong and respected strategic land business with a substantial pipeline of 15 projects under contract, totalling approximately 3,000 units under contract, with sites anticipated to deliver over 1,000 units in solicitors’ hands.
Having established the business and created a strong and capable management team, David Ardley has decided to step back from his role of Managing Director to pursue new ventures outside Obsidian Strategic.
Oliver Myerson, who has been with the business for over 2.5yrs in the role of Land Director has been appointed to succeed David as Managing Director.
Oliver has worked in development since 2005, first as a chartered surveyor for Savills and then in land acquisition for national housebuilders and niche developers. Oliver has extensive planning and land acquisition experience having acquired sites from 5 – 1,000+ units and has a comprehensive understanding of the commercial side of the industry.
