20th May 2019

To celebrate the RHS Chelsea Flower Show this week we will be speaking to a number of Martin’s Properties retail customers about their entries for Chelsea in Bloom, this year’s theme is Under the Sea.

To kick things off we speak to the Nike Women’s Concept store in the King’s Road.

Name of installation: Crazy Dreams

Inspiration behind your creation?
For the Nike floral installation Tottenham based florist Emily Ayres took inspiration from two key aesthetics of the new England Women’s Jersey. The jersey debuts a custom hand-drawn print for the Lionesses highlighting specific flora native to the counties and regions of England.

Given the iconic English Rose delicately printed across the shirt, Emily decided to use a selection of red roses that would honour and respect this design.

The artist was inspired by the sustainability of the jersey which has been made from recycled plastic bottles. Zero plastic has been used in the construction of the installation. Instead Emily has opted for recyclable materials.

The flowers have been carefully selected as they will be dried and gifted by Emily, offering further longevity to the flowers’ life.

Are you running any promotions in tandem with Chelsea in Bloom?
Nike Members will be able to design their own earrings and hair accessories out of dried flowers in store on the 24th and 25th

What does Chelsea Flower Show mean to you?
The area is transformed into a celebration of flowers and community. We love the spirit of celebration and the unity in Chelsea during the Chelsea Flower Show. This unity is shared within the Lionesses squad who are also bringing the country together for this tournament.
